Yesterday I Wore..Beads and Neon

I wore a Topshop beaded dress and my new neon yellow clutch from Bershka which I love; plus it's big enough to fit my umbrella, always a bonus with this foul weather!

Today was my two-year anniversary with my boyfriend (bless us) so last night we went to the steak house Hawksmoor in Covent Garden. I CANNOT rave about the food more, it was amazing. I had a Surf 'n' Turf which was a 300g fillet steak and half a lobster. Unreal. I'd recommend it to anyone.
I was going to take pictures of the food but I was too keen to tuck in (pig), so all I got was a picture of my Pina Colada (also delicious..and strong)

Yummm :) It was pretty expensive but definately worth a visit for a special occasion.

Today I Wore..Floral Wedged Trainers

Slightly blurry picture unfortunately.

I get compliments on this necklace every time I wear it, it's from Accessorize and I got it in the sale.

I loveeee these trainers :) I've been waiting for them for so long. They're the only heels I can wear all day without wanting to cry!

Today I Wore..Lizards and Flamingos

I feel like this is a slightly jungle inspired, fruity looking outfit.
I really apologise for the quality of the pictures; lighting and camera issues, combined with not-getting-up-early-enough-in-the-morning syndrome (AKA..laziness) means it's proving difficult to get good quality pictures.
Sometimes I find being in a rush to get ready means you come up with a more interesting outfit, because in the middle of hurriedly trying on a million different things you throw together unusual and unexpected combinations.
Which is what this was for me, but it grew on me throughout the day! (Luckily).

I absolutely LOVE this lizard bracelet from Topshop, I think it's so unusual and looks quite expensive (it sort of was, originally £25 but I got it for £10 in the sale). I do love a sale.

D.I.Y Dip-Dye, Tie-Dye, Studded Denim Shorts

I finished these shorts today, and I can't wait for summer to come so that I can actually wear them.
While I was dyeing the orange and pink ones (pictures will come, they're still a work in progress) it seemed a shame to waste the pink dye as there's so much of it in one packet.
I had an old pair of white shorts that I wasn't sure what to do with, but I decided to dip them in pink, I just tied a few hairbands around sections of the hem to give them a tie-dye effect, then cut and frayed the hem once I'd dyed them.

I also added studs into one pocket, I bought them from Etsy and they were so easy to do, as you can see from the picture below you just push them through the fabric and bend the spikes down.

I'm pretty pleased with how they turned out! I'm considering offering to do this for people if they have old shorts that they don't know what to do with..but I'm not sure if anyone would pay me to do something that they could do themselves.

Come summer, with tanned legs and a cocktail in one hand, these will  be perfect!

Is her "beauty" the real reason everyone hates Samantha Brick?

No doubt you've heard of Samantha Brick and the article she wrote claiming that everyone hated her because of her beauty. As could have been predicted, the article went viral and she has received a lot of backlash and nastiness. She says that she expected it, as it proves her point that "women hate beautiful women".
Now no offense to Samantha, but this just makes me think, umm..really? Let's ask Cheryl Cole (the nation's sweetheart) if she thinks that this is true.

In all honesty, I don't think it's her claim to be beautiful that has outraged the nation. Yes, it is unusual to hear someone say this, and it's going to attract some derogatory remarks. But it was the air of arrogance and delusion that I think surprised most people, and the total unwillingness to consider that she might be disliked because of her personality, rather than her face.

She beleives that every woman that dislikes her suspects that their husbands fancy her.
She beleives that every promotion she hasn't got is because her female boss is jealous of her beauty, which frankly I think is ridiculous, and insulting. She is suggesting that all woman are sufficently unprofessional enough to hinder other women based purely on what they look like. She hasn't stopped to consider that there might have been other people better qualified for the job.

If what she beleives is true, no beautiful people would have any friends and they'd all be unemployed. The sheer number of celebrities and models surely disproves this?
If women hated beautiful women then when Beyonce released a single no one would buy it. No one would want to buy everything that Kate Middleton wears, yet from the minute she became public she has been adored, not only because of her beauty but because of her sweet and un-pretentious air.

It almost seems now like some magazines are writing articles half-heartedly supporting her, as if that they are trying to prove that they're not jealous.

What do you think?

Tropical Nail Art

These aren't as neat as I'd hoped as I had to do them in a rush before I went out, next time I want to make sure the colours blend a bit better, but hope you enjoy them anyway!
They make me want to go on holiday.
